AG 2nd Place at the 5K!

The Great Pumpkin Fun Run 5K race (in Houston) results have been posted! I came in second in my age group! It's my first time! (Twice, I came in 3rd - in Sugar Land and Pensacola.) I am so excited! So excited that I got out my energy gels and made a great, big beautiful 2 with them. Second place! : )

My chip time was 23:32! (Chip time shaved a second off my Garmin time.) Average pace - 7:35. Here's my race report, in case you missed it.

Oh, and next time... Yes, next time, I'll try to be more humble about it! ; )

  3. I'm so, so happy for you!! You're a woman running, a mom and someone who has been working all summer on running and getting fit, BE PROUD! I know I"m proud of you...it's funny because after following your training, we're all SO excited for you! What's next? The sky is the limit, right?

  4. Girl! In Houston, you rock! Just in case you guys do not know, a 5k in Houston is not like our 5ks in South MS (80-200 people) those races are large. Tina had over 80 in her age group. When I run in New Orleans or Mobile, I NEVER get an age group award. Way to go girl! Awesome!

  6. Way to go!!! I echo the comments above. It is a major achievement to get out daily and train hard while balancing life, work, marriage, and make it into the top 30 at most races let alone 2nd place! Good for you Tina!!! I would be working on my shadow box right now to hang on my wall to display my medal and such for all to see. Oh yes I would and I would not care what anyone thought, nope not one bit=)
