A Week in San Diego, California

Last week, my husband and I drove our RV from Bakersfield to San Diego. Seaport Village is one of the first places that we visited. That's where we walked along the water, stopped for a bite at Frost Me Cupcakes and window shopped.

We did touristy things in San Diego and went to nearby beach towns, too, like Coronado Island to walk through town and sit on the beach. One of my favorite places was the Point Loma tide pools. I spent a lot of time balancing on the rocks while searching for little sea creatures like crabs. I was glad to come away with only one soaked foot! I also enjoyed our visit to the former aircraft carrier USS Midway where we were able to visit with some veterans who told about their former work on the ship.

We stayed at the nice San Diego Metro KOA. This park would be a great place to take your dogs because they have two dog yards with lots of fun obstacle course equipment. It's also a nice place to run. I ran there all week and sometimes took advantage of the nearby hill or dirt track. Each morning when I stepped outside the RV, I noticed that the freeway noise was loud - just a price we paid for a central location. I never noticed the noise when I was inside the RV, though, so it wasn't a problem. I'd stay there again!

  1. Nice to see you are doing well and having fun in your RV!
